seems as if we took a summer break!

it's been a busy few months, though it's hard to believe it's been since the end of march that i posted an entry...yikes! hadley is 15 months now, and tiny as ever. yesterday we had her 15 month appointment. she weighed in a whopping 17 pounds 11 ounces, and is 30 inches tall. when will she ever outgrow her infant car seat?!?!

auntie jewel's 50th birthday!

auntie jewel turned 50 last week, which called for some celebrating, even if she didn't want it to:)

i hear 43 of jewel's family and friends joined us for dinner at the old spaghetti factory last saturday night. i'm greatful for the turnout! i made and cake, and some fancy cake balls, and put out an evite, but it's the people who made the party. thanks to murlene from work, and my mom who did some marketing for me!

long day for hadley. so much excitement. 

a weekend with the cousins on mommy's side

we had so much fun this weekend spending time with family, especially uncle nat and baby justin who were down from seattle. (we missed unlce jeff.) my mom, grandma beth, had her birthday last week, and also our aunt jewel. so we had a couple great celebrations. i think the only thing either of them really cared about was having the three of us, and our three babies together. so that's what they got. 

justin is nearing two, and is palyful, talkative, hungry and sweet. as you can see below, he and miss hadley had some very fun times together. they are both looking forward to elliot getting older so they can push him around in the dump truck, too. 

elliot and hadley see each other pretty frequently, but i don't think they realize that. they remain BFF's just the same.

miss hadley is just growing up SO fast! she's turning into a little girl. she likes to hide in her little tunnel, and when she's tired, she lays her head down on a pillow to watch a little tv. 

well, little miss hadley learned to crawl. she was close for weeks, then the other day just took off and hasn't looked back. she's eating crumbs from under her high chair, grabbing laundry from the coffee table and opening up drawers and cupboards. look out world, here she comes!!

ENGAGED!!

an event in our lives much too great to be passed by without out a blog is the beautiful ring joseph gave me last month. 


now from what i understand, bizzle bop and joseph had done some shopping around, and serious contemplating before came to a final decision on this absolutely perfect ring get to wear these days. but it was on january 5th joseph found the right moment to ask me to marry him. some people have big, over the top, flew on a jet plane, climbed a mountain, the orchestra was playing kind of stories to tell. but that's not really our thing... 


honestly, he'd tried a few times to make it superer, but it just wasn't perfect enough, i guess. i took bizzle bop to visit my family on the coast, and it must have been a terribly lonesome night for him too, being apart. because the night i came home, joseph made dinner, lit candles, drew me a bath after baby went to bed. then after i was tucked in, i asked for my phone charger, and instead he handed me the ring! of course, i said yes, and the rest is history. 


i really didn't know it was coming that night. joseph is that sweet all the time. but looking back, he was a little silly-nervous maybe. 


anyway, that's the story. now you know.

Iayesha's birthday!

we recently celebrated my sister iayesha's birthday
(belated)here at our house. i really enjoy having our family together, and haddy and elliot are so sweet together. my beautiful sister turned...it's a secret:)auntie jewel made yummy peanut butter chocolate cheesecake, and we all enjoyed that for days. so thankful to have such a great sister in my life. actually, it wasn't that recently. i just realized i am so behind. it was a few weeks back now:)

Christmas 2010

2010 was hadley's first christmas! naturally, it was a very exciting season for us. we took haddy to see santa at macy's, visited the zoo for zoo lights, and were able to spend time with both sides of the family over the ACTUAL holiday weekend. i was especially excited we got to host christmas eve at our home with my family. i felt pretty grownup!

Daddy's birthday 2010!

haddy and i wanted to do something special for daddy's birthday, so we planned a little surprise party here at home. we had a really great turnout for one week before christmas, and it was indeed a surprise!thanks to everyone who made it. it meant a lot to us.
