memory lane

let's call this throwback thursday!

grandma beth sent me a package!
(this is my tomato saver:) but she loves it too!)

alright everybody, i have a couple great posts coming up, with hopefully exciting news(not the knocked up kind) and an amazing milestone for joseph and me, and hadley's birthday blog.

but today, i am taking a little trip down memory lane with hadley!

this little girl one tough cookie, and is begging for a toy garbage truck most days, but she is also just about as girly as they come. so, with her 3rd birthday came her first barbie, and an ariel doll. now she just cant stop thinking about them. and clothes, and furniture, and houses, and everything else she sees. i was overwhelmed by the $$$ adding up at the store, thinking about all the pieces. and she's only three. she will lose most the little accessories anyway.

then i had a thought. what about all my barbie stuff sitting in a box at my mom's house in oregon?

we had a skype date recently, and went through what was left of my precious treasures (i had given my mom permission to donate HUGE amounts of this stuff to a local women's shelter a few years ago.) so now we've got some outfits, skipper, stacey, todd, barbies, barbie's baby sister, a cat, a pound puppy dog, furniture and more.

seriously, i don't actually think she is napping in her room right now, i think she is dressing, and undressing stacey.

so, thanks mom, for saving all my beloved toys over the years. and thanks for sending them to ohio!

as you can see, there are a multitude
of treasures in there. a hello kitty pb&j holder,
play iron that was maybe from my great grandpa,
a baseball water bottle...

this is my ariel. she appears to be
one legged these days.
i sure am glad i saved her all these years.

my grandma pease made this dress for
my sister and me when we were little.
i wonder where the rest of the grandma's
house barbie stuff is??

this might be peppermint patty, but i
couldn't say for sure.

time for family portraits!
did you pass down any of your toys to your kids? what was your favorite to share? my favorites are still in oregon, well used by my nephews who are close by.

now i miss my mom's house:(

xoxo, al
