august 17th.

when we discussed this trip to oregon a couple months ago, i did not know i would be here for my best friend's grammy's memorial service. i did not know i would be here for my aunt's cancer diagnosis and surgery. the timing has been crazy, that's for sure.

over the last few days, this date has been on the back of my mind. i was excited to be here in oregon, and really, really wanted this stop to work out TODAY!

five years ago today, i walked in to a starbucks, and met the most handsome, silliest, kindest man i've ever known. he walked in and changed my life, and i will forever be grateful for the life and family he has given me.

so today, i stopped half way between pdx and newport, and hadley and i shared a donut and chocolate milk just inches from where i'd first seen her daddy sitting exactly five years before. she says "this is where we met daddy!" as if she were there too:)

it is true, it really happens. people meet and fall in love at starbucks<3 font="">

and that's that. maybe someday soon i'll share more to our sweet little story. but for tonight, this is it! i've got 2 little girls who will wake me very early, and i am beat!

xoxo, al
